Summary

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary in Warrington that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking for a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a male pupil in KS2 with EAL. This is a long-term full-time contract that will last the full academic year, subject to the pupil staying within the school.

Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a lovely male pupil in KS2 that has been struggling to access the curriculum due to having English as an additional language (EAL). You will be the main point of contact for your new pupil, meeting them at the school gate, walking them back to their grown-up at the end of the day, and giving accurate feedback on their progress. As you will be supporting a pupil with EAL, your main duty will be to deliver progressive speech and language interactions, building in intensity as your pupils' understanding of the English language develops and integrating them into new pupil groups. Other duties will include:

  • Use of phonics and letters and sounds
  • Using association cards
  • English interventions
  • Keep accurate progress records and recognising key milestones

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:

  • Experience working with EAL (supporting Hong Kong national pupils is highly advantageous)
  • Have experience delivering speech and language interactions
  • Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract

What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Long-term contract
  • Company pension scheme
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Access to exclusive positions
  • Refer a Friend scheme
