An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, HCPC registered Occupational Therapist within Amputee Rehabilitation and to work within the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality assessments and treatments for this client group.

The job role is to provide Occupational Therapy, alongside Band 7 Occupational Therapists. To participate in the inter-disciplinary assessment process, negotiated client-centred goals, rehabilitation interventions and completion of reviews and outcome measures. To be responsible for managing a caseload of amputee patients, both non-limb wearers and prosthetic users, with lower limb and upper limb amputations or limb difference. To communicate and liaise with a wide variety of community services regionally, including relevant referrals, ordering equipment and appropriate home visits.



We are looking for someone to provide Occupational Therapy as part of the wider MDT, including Rehabilitation Consultant, physiotherapy, prosthetists, counselling, psychology and therapy assistants. The service is based at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre in Birmingham, whichprovides specialist amputee rehabilitation throughout the whole West Midlands Region.

You will need to have some experience of assessing disability.

You must have good organisational skills including prioritisation of workload and time management skills and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and application of up to date clinical and evidence-based practice.

You must be able to communicate effectively with patients /carers colleagues and other agencies and to have excellent record keeping skills.

As part of the MDT you will be contributing to promoting service development.
