Within children’s services at Cambridge University Hospitals we are dedicated to providing specialist, professional care to our patients and their families in a welcoming and committed atmosphere. We have an ethos of child centred care.

We are seeking to recruit an orthopaedic clinical nurse specialist, on a secondment contract, for our children and young people’s service within CUH. The role will be supporting elective and non-elective surgery and working across the inpatient and outpatient setting. The post offers many opportunities to develop and shape the service, in addition to contributing to the senior nursing team across the trust.

As a clinical nurse in the service you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills as well as leading and influencing change. You will be motivated to make a positive difference to the child and carers experience, maximising effective patient pathways and flow.

You will ensure collaborative partnership working across teams in promoting service development for future expansion of Children’s Services, looking ahead to the Cambridge Childrens Hospital.

Working alongside the other members of the multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive, integrated, service. You will provide specialist clinical skills and will liaise with all relevant professional groups and agencies within and outside the Trust to enhance the delivery of care to children, young people and families with orthopaedic conditions, providing guidance, support and advice.
