Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in a comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support for clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to clients’ dietary needs and preferences.
Assist with mobility and transportation, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
Document care provided and report any changes in clients’ conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Support clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments through behaviour management techniques.
Skills
Proven experience in caregiving or home care settings is essential.
Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home experience, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable.
Knowledge of first aid procedures and medication administration protocols.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation responsibilities.
