Summary

An opportunity has arisen in our Trust for an assistant psychologist wishing to work with children and young people (CYP) within a community paediatric setting.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding multidisciplinary team. You would be supporting the clinical activities of the community paediatrics clinical psychology service, which provides care and treatment for younger CYP and their families presenting with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism. There would be the opportunity for interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary working, and you would receive weekly supervision from a Principal Clinical Psychologist.

Assistant psychologists are an integral member of the MDT, and you will have substantial opportunities to develop your knowledge and expertise of child development, direct clinical contact with families, and observation skills.

As part of our commitment to your CPD, we will also support you to connect with clinical psychologists working in other clinical areas within the trust, to increase your knowledge and understanding of the breadth of roles clinical psychologists work in.
• Contribute to the community paediatric clinical psychology service, as appropriate and under the supervision of the principal clinical psychologist. To include supporting multi-disciplinary assessment pathways,
• Assist in the development and implementation of research and ethics protocols and projects, and draft papers for publication in peer reviewed journals as required.
• Support the department with regular audit and service evaluation activities as directed by the principal clinical psychologists.
• Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with the professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
