Summary
Core professional qualification in one of the psychological professions (e.g. Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, CBT Therapy or equivalent). Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000) as accredited by the BPS. Accreditation or registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. HCPC, BABCP, BPS, UKCP). Knowledge and skills in the use of psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to work with individuals and teams presenting with complex difficulties. Experience of maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients and other professional colleagues. Enthusiasm for the development and delivery of psychological services focused on improving the wellbeing of staff and patients. The ability to provide effective teaching and training. The ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team. The ability to use own initiative and make decisions independently, whilst being aware of own limitations.
