Children’s Services Policy Officer
37 hours per week, term time, Fixed Term position
£38,452 - £42,465 per annum, inclusive of £2,859 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

This post has responsibility primarily for developing and coordinating a range of policies and activities which support the implementation and promotion of the Bairns’ Hoose. It will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service on all aspects of policy development within Children’s Services.

Duties will include assisting with funding bids and the monitoring and reporting requirements associated with key policy developments and to report and publish findings to the Comhairle, WIHB and CYPPP.

It is essential you have a Degree level qualification in relevant subject or significant knowledge and work experience relevant to the post. Experience in policy writing and data analysis is also required. You must have an excellent understanding of research techniques, knowledge and experience of audit and compliance issues. You should have understanding of Bairns’ Hoose standards and values.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children and Adults (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. This post is fixed term to 31 March 2026.
