Summary

Permanent opportunity for a Bonded Stores Operator based in Port Talbot with onsite parking.

Hours of work 7am - 3.30pm Monday - Thursday with a 1pm finish Fridays.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for accurate stock control and traceability of components from receipt through to production, ensuring high standards of accuracy, safety, and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming deliveries of raw materials, tools, and components.

  • Maintain precise inventory levels across multiple divisions using inventory management systems.

  • Pick, pack, and issue materials, parts, and tooling to support workshop and onsite jobs.

  • Package, label, and dispatch finished products with correct documentation and courier arrangements.

  • Keep storage areas organised, clean, safe, and clearly labeled for ease of access.

  • Assist with regular stock audits and cycle counts, reporting and resolving discrepancies as necessary.

  • Comply with health and safety standards in handling materials and equipment.

  • Coordinate stock collections, returns, and transfers between various sites when required.

  • Occasionally deliver goods to customers using company vehicles.

  • Identify opportunities to improve stores processes and reduce manufacturing downtime.

Competencies:

  • Proficient in stock booking, kitting, and inventory counting.

  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Solid job knowledge, organisational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships based on trust and shared goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar stock control role.

  • Computer literate with experience using inventory control systems.

  • Experience in inspection and fitting is beneficial.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Valid full UK driving licence.

  • Reliable, proactive, and a team player mindset.
