About the Role
As Information Hub Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of the campus and the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. You'll play a key role in delivering essential information, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring everyone feels informed and supported. This is a varied role that requires excellent time management, prioritisation skills, and a calm, professional approach.
What You'll Do:
- Greet students, staff, and guests at the Campus Information Hub desk, creating a warm and professional first impression
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented reception area
- Issue and monitor ID cards for students, staff, and visitors, and maintain accurate visitor records
- Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email, triaging effectively and directing them to appropriate resources
- Liaise with campus departments to ensure the Information Hub remains a reliable and up-to-date resource
- Support administrative teams with a range of tasks, including typing letters, managing student forms, booking auditions, and handling post
- Monitor and authorise student absences via online forms
- Maintain the telephone system and report any issues
- Keep the storage room behind the Information Hub desk tidy and organised
- Assist with general office duties to support the Information Hub Supervisor and wider administrative processes
What You'll Bring:
- A good level of general education, including English and Maths
- Previous experience in a customer service and/or administrative role
- Excellent telephone manner and ability to manage high call volumes
- Strong time-keeping, organisational, and prioritisation skills
- Professional personal presentation and communication skills
- Friendly, empathetic attitude with a proactive approach to student support
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Computer literacy, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Desirable: experience working with diverse clientele, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with using computer databases
Working hours for this role are 9:45am to 6:15pm (with a one-hour lunch break) during term time, and 9:00am to 5:30pm (with a one-hour lunch break) outside of term time.
