Assistant Support Worker - Napier Close (£24,570)Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are looking for caring and enthusiastic Assistant Support Worker’sto join our dedicated team at Napier Close, a supported living service for individuals with learning disabilities in Hitchin.Napier Close is a purpose-built block of 15 supported living, self-contained 1-bedroom flats with a lounge, kitchen and wet room/walk-in shower. There is an office with a communal lounge and kitchen.What You will Do:As an Assistant Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Aid with the daily administration of medicationEncouraging life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgetingOrganising trips to local amenitiesPromoting independence and helping residents achieve their personal goalsFollowing tailored support plans and risk assessments to ensure safety and wellbeingShifts are as follows (sleep-ins are required once or twice a week):3pm - 11pm + sleep-in (11pm - 8am) + 8am - 4pm10am - 6pm11am - 7pmAs an Assistant Support Worker you will;Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.Promote life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs.Be flexible and reliable, able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidaysIt is essential that you have a Full UK Driving Licence, access to a car, and are happy to do sleep-ins (minimum one per week).Hightown Benefits:Generous annual leave allowance of 33 days per year (pro rata), including statutory bank holidays, rising to 35 days with service£24,570 pa for a 37.5 hour a week contractWorkplace pension scheme and life assurance of three times your annual salaryMileage paid for car usageFully paid DBSAnnual bonus based on satisfactory performanceMonthly attendance bonus and annual salary and cost of living reviewOngoing professional development and training to help you deliver outstanding supportEmployee assistance helpline Appointment to this position will be subject to satisfactory right to work, enhanced DBS, reference and medical checks.We are an Equal Opportunities & Disability Confident Employer.
