Summary
Interim finance opportunity - Project Accountant | Central Bristol
Charles Maidment from the Hays Bristol Senior Finance team is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Accountant on behalf of a financial services client based in Central Bristol.
- Location: Central Bristol (3 days on site/ 2 days from home)
- Contract: 6 months
- Reporting to: Head of Insurance Finance
- Team Size: No direct reports
- Salary equivalent: £120,000 (outside IR35 as a day rate)
Role Overview:
This is a 6-month contract opportunity, ideal for a qualified accountant with strong project and process improvement experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in representing the finance function across strategic projects, enhancing financial controls, and supporting audit and assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead finance input on key business projects
- Review and improve existing finance processes
- Strengthen the financial control environment
- Support year-end audit and assurance activities
- Drive automation and efficiency across finance operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve end-to-end processes
What We're Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven experience in process improvement and project work
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Financial services experience preferred (insurance ideally)
- Highly proficient in Excel
