We are seeking a dedicated Coordinator to play a vital role in the Connect to Work programme team working across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove local authorities.

Salary: £32,597 to £35,412 per annum, £26,430 to £28,712 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2030

Working Pattern: Part-time (30 hours per week)

Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester PO19 1RQ with required countywide travel.

Interview Date: week commencing Monday 06 October 2025

Regular attendance at your base location will also be necessary. There will be opportunities for remote work, with final arrangements to be confirmed with the successful candidate.

About the Job

As a Connect to Work Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing referrals to the programme and verifying that applicants meet the eligibility criteria.

You will have a strong sense of process and compliance with contractual expectations.

There are several key responsibilities that will be integral to this role, including:

  • Overseeing the process of assessing the eligibility of new applications for the Connect to Work programme in West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, ensuring timely communication with the Department for Work and Pensions.
  • Coordinating the timely and efficient exchange of information regarding prospective participants between the Department for Work and Pensions and partners across the delivery area, keeping careful and accurate records.
  • Responding effectively to enquiries from partners,
  • using database systems and email to communicate with other team members and staff across the whole delivery area.
  • Providing effective administrative to the team, coordinating governance, stakeholder and management meetings, sending out papers and joining instructions, and minuting meetings.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Business administration degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent business-related qualification, or an equivalent level of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of data protection principles and responsibilities, particularly concerning the handling of personal and sensitive category data.
  • Excellent standard of written English, producing clear and accessible reports for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating and collaborating effectively with diverse groups of people, including external partners and stakeholders.
  • Skills to use initiative to prioritise competing demands, make sound judgments, and refer inquiries to other team members when appropriate.
