Unit Nurse Manager - Nights
Location: New Eltham
Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) - includes long days and alternate weekends
Salary Rate: £24.70
Our client is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Unit Nurse Manager - Nights to join their dementia specialised nursing home. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a passion for providing exceptional care and ensuring efficient unit operations. The role demands strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Hold a valid NMC PIN as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Demonstrate experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursing home setting.
- Excellent clinical skills and an in-depth understanding of safeguarding policies and care standards.
- Have the ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and efficiency.
- Exhibit strong organisational skills to manage staff rotas and day-to-day unit operations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members while maintaining empathy and inclusivity.

Responsibilities
- Providing professional, person-centred care in accordance with residents' care plans.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, medication protocols, and industry standards.
- Overseeing and managing unit care plans to maintain best practices and individual needs.
- Responding promptly to emergencies and escalating concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
- Accurately maintaining care records, incident reports, and end-of-shift handovers.
- Coordinating and resolving staff rota issues, arranging agency bookings when required.
- Supporting and mentoring staff to create a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Actively participating in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
