Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an Inclusion and Engagement Research Lead to support both the NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) and Clinical Research Facility (CRF) in delivery of their ambitious Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement & Participation (PPIEP) and Equality & Diversity Inclusion (EDI) objectives.

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging individual to lead on embedding the patient voice in clinical trials research undertaken across Cheshire and Merseyside.


In keeping with the seniority of this post, the successful appointee will be expected to work autonomously on behalf of the CRDC and CRF and represent the Clinical Directors at a National Level.

Post holder will:


Plan and deliver CRDC and CRF Public Participation Inclusion strategy ensuring that the public are able to influence the project


Develop and chair an advisory board involving people with lived experience of trial participation, any other networks as required by our research activities, to ensure that citizen perspective is considered in delivery of CRDC and CRF outcomes


Work with public engagement groups across Cheshire and Merseyside region, e.g. Innovation agency, Liverpool Health Partners, the Applied Research Collaboration to share and scale best practice and ensure the transfer of knowledge and learning for wider public benefit.


Communicate findings to peers, policy makers, stakeholders, and opinion leaders using audience-appropriate methods including written lay summaries and academic publications


Design and conduct research / evaluation studies, including community conversations with local residents, public perceptions of the work of CRDC and CRF and public engagement activities


Deliver podcasts and other engagement materials focused on clinical trials and the use of health data for trial purposes ensuring both the public and health professional voices are heard


Co-produce communication materials


Produce local and national Annual Reports, Staff Newsletters, CRDC & UKCRDC Network web content.

Based at NIHR Liverpool CRDC, will liaise and work with campus NIHR infrastructure colleagues and national CRDC PPIEP Leads including NIHR CCF PPIE team, Patient and public research champions and contributors, and other relevant (local council, charities and school) groups to deliver PPIEP & EDI.
