Hours: 14.9 per week
Working pattern for positron is Tuesday - Wednesday.

This post is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Modern Studies teacher to join our welcoming and collaborative Social Subjects Faculty. We aim to develop an enthusiasm for learning by providing pupils with challenging and creative opportunities. This post is to cover a timetable on a Tuesday and Wednesday which includes S1 and S2 Modern Studies and NPA Criminology.
This post would suit an innovative and enthusiastic teacher interested in working with young people in the class and beyond. Digital literacy is a key element of learning and teaching at Leith Academy and the successful applicant ought to have an interest in embedding this further by providing a range of digital methodologies in the classroom.
Leith Academy is a diverse and comprehensive secondary school in Edinburgh, the school roll is currently around 1000 pupils.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
