Summary


Trust Foundation Year 1

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit Trust FY1s to start immediately for 1Year .

Whilst the candidates will not be on a training programme, the successful candidates will receive similar training and will participate in various development programmes as other Fy1 colleagues.

These programmes have been designed to develop junior doctors’ generic skills. The post holders will be responsible for the care of inpatients and day patients under the direction of the Consultant Urologists.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires a Trust FY1 to work in the department of Urology. Working as a member of the Urology Department the successful candidate will provide a high-quality service that aims to deliver excellent patient care. This post would need to cover general surgery on call.

The Hillingdon Hospital is situated in Uxbridge in the south of the London Borough of Hillingdon. It has over 400 beds catering the health need of the population (280,000) of Borough of Hillingdon.

Amongst these services is a large Accident and Emergency
Department, which deals with approximately 80,000 attendances a year.

Following major review of acute services in west London, Hillingdon Hospital was awarded the status of a major hospital with provision for management of Level II trauma.

The A&E Department is undergoing further development following a previous redevelopment programme, which included a new observation and assessment ward.


There are 7 operating theatres. The critical care facility adjacent to theatres has 9 ITU. The hospital has a Day Care Unit comprising 23 beds. The Division of Support Services offers excellent diagnostic facilities in pathology, radiology (CT scanning, MRI scanning, Nuclear Medicine and Spect CT) and medical physics.

The Trust has a board of Directors, including 5 non-executive Directors, who are responsible for the business planning of the hospital. They are committed to providing the greatest range of services possible, at high quality.
