Summary
Role: ICA Commissioning Engineer
Location: Braintree
Salary: £37,000 - £76,000 DOE
I’m working with an established engineering services provider, well-regarded in the delivery of MEICA projects across the UK, who are now looking to add an ICA Commissioning Engineer to their team. This is a great opportunity to join a business that’s built its reputation on high-quality project management and commissioning expertise.
The role will involve working on a range projects across London and the Home Counties, supporting project delivery and playing a key part in commissioning activities.
As an ICA Commissioning Engineer, you’ll:
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies and procedures tailored to project requirements.
• Oversee installation and commissioning on site, ensuring work is carried out to specification, asset, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with site teams and client operations to plan works, including any necessary shutdowns or outages.
• Troubleshoot and configure ICA systems — including control panels, PLCs, and comms networks — to meet design intent.
• Lead and contribute to commissioning meetings, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
• Background with ICA systems.
• Comfortable working on a hybrid basis, with regular time on site during key phases.
• Flexible to travel to multiple sites, with some overnight stays where required.
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications, offering feedback and improvements where needed.
• Strong planning and organisational skills to lead commissioning activities.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
Desirable
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• CSCS (supervisor level).
• HNC or above in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Familiarity with WIMES and water utility standards.
• Strong problem-solving approach and ability to work through issues methodically.
What’s on Offer
• Company car scheme.
• Annual bonus.
• Pension plan.
• 25 days holiday + statutory leave.
• Full support with training, PPE, laptop, tools, and expense reimbursement (including mileage and subsistence).
