Summary
The post holder is primarily intended to work at Registrar level, supporting and aiding the clinical ward work, the Outpatient workload and Emergency and Emergency Elective operating of the Department. A pay banding supplement is payable for participation in the on-call rota at middle grade level.
Newham University Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust. It is an associate teaching hospital and is dedicated to teaching and training.
Post-holders will be working at the middle grade level as a Trust Grade Registrar and be part of a team of 8 at the middle grade level within the General Surgery department. You will be rotating and working within the department in Breast/Endocrine surgery, Gastro-intestinal/minimally invasive surgery and colorectal surgery. Although this post is not a recognized training post, you will have a wide opportunity to develop your surgical skills and you will be expected to have a strong academic commitment and to be part of the ongoing academic and audit activities of the department.
