Summary

If you offer technical theatre expertise, a passion for the arts, and are excited about working on a busy calendar of productions, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at an award-winning arts centre in Oxford.

As a Theatre Technician at The North Wall, you will work alongside the Technical Manager and a Senior Technician to provide technical services to all incoming theatre companies, artists and hirers of the building and various in-house training, outreach and production projects.

You will provide technical support to the Drama department at St Edward’s School for productions, projects and exams.

You will need to have an all-round understanding of and competence in technical theatre work, including lighting, sound and audio-visual, with the ability to set-up, operate and maintain technical equipment.

If you're passionate about innovative theatre and supporting new artistic voices, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The deadline for applications is Monday 6th October 2025.

We reserve the right to conduct interviews and appoint for the role before the advertised closing date should a suitable candidate be found. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.

St Edward’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we aim to create and maintain a safe environment for our pupils, where they feel respected and supported. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to become familiar with our policies and procedures for child protection and security. All staff are required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The North Wall celebrates diversity and fosters inclusion and is committed to equality of opportunity for everyone in our community, regardless of class, age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We actively encourage applications from individuals who are under-represented in the cultural sector.
