Summary
The Integrated Learning Disabilities Service (ILDS) provides health and social care to adults with learning disabilities living in Enfield. The service consists of health and social care staff which include social work, community nursing, speech and language therapists, arts therapists, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy and specialists’ teams including the Equals employment team.
As an Occupational Therapist in Equals – ‘employment for all’ is the goal. Using personalised interventions, employer relationships and partnerships, to support those with learning difficulties and long-term conditions (pan-disability). The essential role of a band 5 OT within Equals is to work across both LD and non-LD caseloads to achieve the role of paid employment/ volunteering for the service users in NEET (Not in education, employment, or training).
The role aims to bridge the gap and empower equal opportunities for employment for those vulnerable individuals with learning disabilities. As a core principle in OT is ‘Equality’ this is our ethos in the Equals part of ILDS of Enfield.
The Post Holder will be responsible for working with the ILDS Employment team to assess, job coach and attain valued worker roles for Adults with Learning Disabilities (and pan disability – funding dependant) living in Enfield. We aim for paid employment and once in the job will work with the service user and employer to keep the job, reviewing regularly and supporting with in work requirements (appraisals, disciplinaries, job changes).

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
