Summary

Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for 2 x Permanent, 18 hour Laundry Assistant posts.

The 18 hours will be worked over 3 days from 8:30am - 3:00pm. As these posts are part-time the salary will be Pro-Rata to the hours worked.

The post holders will be responsible for:

- Daily washing by machine of bedding, towels, residents personal clothing and other related articles.

- Drying of laundered articles and finishing laundry, ironing and folding of articles.

- Unpacking and checking of clothing and bedding coming into laundry area.

- Ironing and folding laundry articles for distribution to residents rooms.

- Cleaning all equipment, fixtures and fittings to the specified standard.

The laundry assistant will comply with training and procedures and be aware of and adhere to Health and safety rules and regulations relating to all aspects of the post including the use of electrical equipment, Infection control and CoSHH regulations.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement, for the benefit of the service and organisation.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
