Summary
The role of Motor Transport Driver is to support the training of all Junior Soldier intakes by driving a variety of vehicle platforms held at the Army Foundation College and within licence category held of C+E and Passenger Carrying Vehicle plus Dangerous Goods Vehicle Driver Vocational Training Certificate. The Motor Transport Driver must ensure all details are conducted in a safe and policy compliant manner.
Key responsibilities include:
Carriage of passengers on authorised details as directed by line management
Carry out tasks and supervise passengers in conjunction with legislation and Army/Motor Transport standing orders
Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met when loading and unloading
Reporting vehicle faults
Carry out emergency details at short notice
Drive minor casualties to and from hospital
Carry out vehicle husbandry and maintenance tasks as detailed by line management
Completion of all necessary documentation appertaining to driver’s details
Comply with all drivers’ responsibilities as laid down in policy
Manage the vehicle yard, ensuring vehicles are handed in clean and ready to use by drivers
