Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.

What will you be doing?
You'll be responsible for producing accurate CAD drawings, calculations, and loop drawings for intrinsically safe circuits, ensuring these are correctly attached to DSDs and aligned with project requirements.
You'll support our business unit directly, while also providing drawing and design assistance to other teams.
We'll need you to reduce reliance on external suppliers by delivering drawings in-house, improving turnaround times and quality, while lowering overall costs.
You'll work in compliance with M Group MEICA Policies, Procedures, and Safe Systems of Work, as well as relevant British and International standards.
What you’ll bring
- Are you proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, or equivalent) with proven drafting experience in engineering or industrial projects?
- Do you have an understanding of intrinsically safe circuits and hazardous area requirements (DSEAR/ATEX)?
- Do you have a strong knowledge of British and International drawing standards?
- Are you someone who has a high attention to detail and a methodical approach to producing accurate work?
- Are you a good communicator with ability to work closely with engineers, supervisors, and external stakeholders?
- Do you have the ability to interpret engineer instructions and translate them into accurate CAD outputs?
