Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The Role as HLTA, you will:
• Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2—working closely with teachers to plan, deliver, and adapt lessons and interventions.
• Lead small groups and 1:1 support to help children succeed academically and personally.
• Manage classes in the absence of the teacher (PPA, ECT release, cover, etc.).
• Take responsibility for the management of lunchtimes, including supervising midday staff and ensuring a safe, well-organised, and positive lunch environment.
• Support assessment, feedback, and tracking of pupil progress. • Play a role in pastoral care, helping foster good behaviour, routines, and a supportive learning environment.
Who We’re Looking For Our ideal candidate will:
• Have experience of teaching and learning in a school (ideally KS2), and be ready to take on leadership of parts of the day / supervision roles.
• Be passionate, organised, and confident to lead: both in the classroom and across lunch supervision.
• Have strong interpersonal skills: able to motivate pupils and work collaboratively with teachers, midday staff, parents, and senior leadership.
• Be resilient, flexible, and committed to high expectations—for themselves and pupils alike.
• Be open to training and support to grow further into leadership.
