Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive team and work with pupils in Year 6 with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional help with their learning in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths). You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to help pupils accelerate their progress, build confidence, and develop strategies for independent learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, particularly in English and Maths.
• Adapt and scaffold learning to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils to develop focus, resilience, and confidence in their learning.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress.
• Encourage positive attitudes to learning and help pupils prepare for transition to secondary school.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience of working with primary-aged pupils, ideally with SEN.
• Understands how to support children to overcome barriers to learning.
• Is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping all children achieve their potential.
• Has good communication and organisational skills.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
