Summary

Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com

Based at Central Library you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
You will be responsible for driving revenue and maximising profitability through the development of new commercial activities at Camperdown Wildlife Centre. You will provide excellent customer service in planning and support to clients, and help develop a strategy that supports the zoos conservation. You will also raise awareness of the centre's mission and values. You will regularly ensure proper event management and help attract visitors to the centre.

Requirements

HNC/HND in event/marketing or related discipline OR Experience in a sales/events co-ordinating role.

Responsibilities

Responsible for driving revenue and maximising profitability through the development of new commercial activities at Camperdown Wildlife Centre, ensuring financial success and sustainability alongside a positive visitor experience.

The Individual

You will have experience of organising and co-ordinating events for commercial clients, ideally within a zoo or leisure setting. You will have experience of building and maintaining relationships with clients. You should be proficient in the use of relevant event or sales databases. Experience administering event bookings, budgets and of organising their operational delivery.

You must be a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have excellent customer service skills. You will have excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively and work independently and productively under pressure.

You should be an effective networker with a talent for identifying commercial opportunities. You must be proactive, positive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.

You will be flexible and adaptable particularly in the face of change.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
