Summary
We are seeking a Science Technician on a temporary basis to provide additional technical support to teaching staff in our successful Science Department, in particular through our open evenings. This will be for a total of 70 overs over a few weeks (10 days x 7hrs). The days will vary based on the week, for example on the two weeks with Open Evening additional support will be needed on the Wednesdays, but the other weeks it is likely to be on Monday and Fridays. This needs to be based on the best possible use of the time once staff have placed orders each week.
With an interest and experience in Physics, Biology or Chemistry, the ideal applicant will be able to transfer their key skills and knowledge to support a busy department.
The Science Technician will work as part of a team of technicians servicing laboratories, preparing materials and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons as requested by the teaching staff and the Science Technician Manager.
You will be subject to supervision but will be expected to organise Your own workload and set your priorities within short, e.g. day-to-day timescales.
