About Us:
Kingsland School is a split site provision catering for pupils aged 11 16.
Our Broadbent Road based in Watersheddings is a Pupil Referral Unit which offers Day 6 provision for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from an Oldham Secondary School or Academy.
Our second site, known as Laurel Bank currently hosts our Specialist Learning Centre and is based in Shaw, Oldham. This provision is for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health and medical needs which creates a barrier to their attendance at school. Also located at this site is our bespoke provision providing education for children and young people age 11 16 who have previously attended the Specialist Learning Centre and have an EHCP. This provision is known as Laurel Gardens.
We have plans for expansion and are in the process of securing additional sites.
Role Overview:
We are looking for two highly motivated and experienced Catering Assistants to join our school team. We have vacancies at both our Broadbent Road Site and our Laurel Bank Site. Flexibility is a key component to the role and there is a requirement to work across our sites including additional sites to facilitate the catering provision. The role involves preparing, cooking and serving meals, supporting dining room arrangements and carrying out a range of housekeeping duties. In addition to this the suitable candidate must be able to comply with all hygiene standards and maintain appropriate paperwork to evidence this. We believe that providing high quality meals for our pupils is a key element to supporting their wellbeing and their education. The successful candidate must be able to commence work from 8.30am each morning to prepare breakfast for our pupils.
All successful candidates will work with a committed and supportive staff team. A thorough training schedule is provided.
Kingsland School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
Kingsland School support staff wellbeing and offers a free service known as the employee assistance programme.
Due to split site arrangements the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel independently and at short notice between sites as required.
We welcome prospective applicants to visit the school. To arrange an appointment please contact the school office on 0161 770 7120.
