Summary

To deputise for the PACS Manager and manage the day to day running of PACS/RIS within the trust in their absence. A service integral to patient safety across the trust. To provide specialist clinical and technical advice on information systems such as PACS, ICE and RIS pertaining to the clinical setting within the Radiology Department. To work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain working relationships with the IT and Clinical Applications Teams To make complex judgements involving patient image files and the information stored within these. To ensure that patient systems data is preserved and not compromised. Activities may impact directly on patient care. Faults may constrain system users from carrying out patient care; any issues relating to patient systems should be raised with the PACS manager/Senior Management with the highest priority. The Post holder will be required to assess information system settings and parameters. The post holder will be required to analyse multiple and complex data streams and make changes where appropriate. On a daily basis, liaise with the PACS Manager to ensure a range of housekeeping tasks are completed where unresolved jobs are identified, depending on priority, patient service implications, complexity and workload. Post holder is responsible for ensuring the quality of radiology data being sent to both the local and national store. Outcomes may be defined, but the post holder will be required to decide how they are best achieved using initiative and experience. The post holder should liaise with the PACS Manager where appropriate. The post holder is required to switch concentration between several different information systems when resolving problems. Interruptions will occur as new problems arise, resulting in plans being altered at a moments notice. Please see the attached job description for full information
