Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Hays Education is seeking a dedicated
SEND Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join a specialist school in Tameside, Greater Manchester. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment, supporting pupils aged 4-16 with a range of complex needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. As a SEND TA, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Assist with personalised learning plans
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists
- Help create a safe and engaging classroom environment

What You'll Need to Succeed
- A genuine interest in supporting children with SEND
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in a school or care setting (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to undertake training (e.g. Team Teach, safeguarding)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Hays
