Summary
Introduction:
Our client, a well-established electrical contractor, is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong background in estimating within the electrical contracting, building services, or M&E sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and detailed electrical estimates, quotations, and cost plans for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
• Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to assess project requirements.
• Carry out take-offs from electrical drawings and prepare material, labour, and subcontractor costs.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Work closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams to hand over successful tenders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and risk factors.
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and market prices.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the electrical contracting, building services, or M&E industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, distribution, lighting, containment, fire alarms, security systems, and general building services.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (such as Trimble, Amtech, or similar).
