HGV Class 2 Skip Driver
Job location: Ashbourne DE6 area
Pay rate: £16.30 per hour | weekly pay in arrears, every Friday
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7am-4pm

Smart Solutions is currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to work with our client, who is a Waste Management specialist, based in the Ashbourne DE6 area.
As an HGV Class 2 Skip Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting skips to and from customers using a skip lorry, while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a professional demeanour. This includes completing daily vehicle checks, reporting defects, and ensuring all paperwork is filled out correctly. Effective communication with the fleet office and adherence to safe working practices are also crucial aspects of the role.
HGV Class 2 Skip Driver - Duties & Responsibilities:
Driving the Hook and Skip trucks
The safe and efficient delivery, exchange, and collection of skips for domestic and commercial customers
Carry out required vehicle condition checks on daily or weekly basis
Carry out assigned collection and delivery targets on a daily/weekly basis
Maintain written and electronic records as required
Assist in route optimisation through the use of GPS system
Communicate information that could potentially improve customer service or increase business
Participate in company mandated training
HGV Class 2 Skip Driver - Personal Specification:
Valid HGV Class 2
CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence)
Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably in waste management or a related industry
Strong knowledge of HGV vehicle maintenance and safety regulations
Excellent driving and navigation skills
Good communication and interpersonal abilities
Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility
