Summary
Personal Assistant required in the Bedale area.
Initially 2 hours – Saturday &/or 2 hours Sunday
2/3 hours twice a week during college holidays. ALL FLEXIBLE
Rate of pay - `£15.65 per hour
I am a young adult (male) with Down syndrome aged 18. I am looking for a P.A. who can help me take part in activities during the times listed above.
I enjoy going to cafe’s, love music (all types) and musical instruments. I like going for short walks in the park and I like to be helped to use the playground equipment if it’s not too busy.
I love to go swimming, trampolining. I also enjoy looking at books especially when I am being read a story. Sharing art and craft activities i.e. cutting and sticking shapes, crayoning, play dough and small jigsaws and puzzles.
I love people talking to me when we are sharing activities; I like to watch their faces and when they smile and tell me “Well done”. This makes me happy.
Because I have sensory issues, I sometimes put non-edible items in my mouth, so you must watch me carefully.
I am non-verbal.
Sometimes I need personal care.
I like watching people and I smile a lot; I also make my family laugh because I have an infectious giggle.
I don’t run away so please don’t grip me tightly, it makes me feel anxious.
A car driver is required with a full clean driving licence.
