Summary

Site Engineer

Location: Cheshire (travel across the region required)

Salary: Up to £45,000 + benefits package

About the Role

Randstad are delighted to be partnering with a Tier One Contractor to recruit a Site Engineer to join their growing team in Cheshire. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will be responsible for the technical and quality aspects of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and designs to set out and survey the works.
  • Manage all on-site technical issues, ensuring works align with design specifications and quality plans.
  • Conduct regular quality checks, inspections, and audits.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive site records (QA documentation, diaries, as-built drawings).
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, design teams, and subcontractors for efficient project delivery.
  • Implement and promote stringent health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant Site Engineer experience on major civil engineering projects (highways, rail, water, or major infrastructure).
  • A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in relevant software (CAD and surveying equipment: GPS, Total Stations).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Deep understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel within Cheshire.
