Summary
Are you an experienced people supervisor with a proactive mindset and a passion for safety and security? We are looking for a dynamic and committed Operational Senior Security Supervisor to join our forward-thinking Security Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
This is a pivotal role within our Trust, responsible for leading and supporting the security team to deliver safe, effective, and responsive services across our hospital sites. You will work closely with the Security Management Team and key stakeholders to manage daily operations, respond to incidents, and maintain a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors..

To support the security team in all aspects of the security role, undertaking shop floor duties to support and lead the security team and drive standards forward.
To Assist and support on all administrative duties and standards with in the operational security team, this will include the population of Staffing rotas, Annul leave management, sickness management and any other ad-hoc duties as required.
To assist in promoting the security strategy to provide a safe place to visit and work. It will include development and mentoring of the security Officers via regular feedback and one to one development.
Assist in providing supervision, leadership and support to the whole Trust security team covering 24/7 on both primary hospital sites and any other Trust premises, as and when required.
This is a full time position, working contracted hours of 37.5 hours per week with a holiday allowance starting at 27 days plus an additional 8 bank holidays.
You will be working at both Preston and Chorley Hospital sites, working a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern covering all operational hours across both sites when needed. This will include nights and weekends.
Unsociable and weekend enhancement are paid when these are worked.
As a band 4 officer working this pattern, you will be expected to obtain earnings of up to £36k with the opportunity for working over time on an ad hoc basis.

· Delivering the Service - on a daily basis the post holder will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise. This will require effective liaison with other staff groups, particularly clinical and actively seek constructive feedback on service provision.
· In managing the Security team the Senior Supervisor’s role covers a range of services including:-
· If (or when) required, to ensure that control and restraint techniques as detailed in the approved training to fulfil the duties and responsibilities are appropriately applied.
· Ensuring that complaints of crime from patients/visitors and staff are logged and recorded. Carry out investigations when required of any loss or breaches of security and report to Manager as necessary.
· Use of several computerised (or any other) systems in relation to Security and Car Parking.
· Fully complete, monitor and ensure the Trust Security staffing rotas are adequately staffed to ensure smooth operation compliance and are within budget restrictions.
· Report any untoward incidents concerning members of staff to the Deputy Security Manager – Operational Security Manager
· Report & Log any criminal acts to the Police and the Deputy Security Manager – Operational Security Manger
· Respond as required to fire alarm activations as per Standard Operating Procedures, including ‘stand down’ protocols for fire service and liaise with other Trust staff on a site wide basis.
· Provide emergency assistance to all staff as required.
· To successfully complete mandatory and annual training directives as required by the Trust to ensure personal standards are maintained.

· In supervising and managing the Security Hub activity and services the post holder should ensure that Security Officers:-
· Monitor all security Hub functions and where necessary assume control of incidents as a control authority during incidents until such time as the incident is resolved.
· Monitor fire protection system(s) and take responsibility for the coordination of the security team & supervisors during fire alarm activations as per Standard Operating Procedures.
· Monitoring and report any faults of door access systems (G4S based software) ensuring access and security systems are working.
· Monitoring all Data downloads/ as required in line with directives of the Trust and in line with the Data Protection Act 2018, Trust Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Monitor the Administration and production of door access cards.
· Manage the Trust Safeguarding/CCTV system in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, (GDRP) including downloading CCTV footage for evidence for police
