Iron Mountain is seeking a Security Clearance Administrator to join our dedicated Global Risk organisation. This critical role reports directly to the Director of Global Background Investigations and Risk and is integral to the successful administration of our Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) and Global Background Investigation programs within the United Kingdom, and where required, Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific and India (APACI).
Your role in our mission:
As a Security Clearance Administrator, you'll be a key part of our team, ensuring the integrity and compliance of our security programs. Your responsibilities will include:
Program Administration & Compliance: You'll work closely with key internal stakeholders, customers, government security units, and appointed vendors to administer the PSC program. This includes managing National Security Vetting (NSV) and Police Vetting (NPPV) applications, renewals, insider threat protocols, changes in personal circumstances, and aftercare tasks. A core part of your role will be ensuring strict alignment with key industry accreditations like Industry Personnel Security Assurance (IPSA).
Subject Matter Expertise: Become our go-to expert on National Security Vetting (NSV) clearance and background investigation standards, especially concerning Defence, Nuclear, Home Office Protective Security Centre, HMRC, HM Treasury and other HM Government Departments, National Police Contractor Vetting, and Civil Aviation Authorities. You'll guide decision-making and interpret company policies to ensure compliance.
Wider Program Support: You'll also provide support to the wider Background Investigation team and help maintain live Facility Security Clearance (FSC) and Industry Personnel Security Assurance (IPSA) accreditations.
Policy Management: Proactively manage and update PSC program procedures as needed.
System Analysis: Analyze and interpret systems to identify and manage changes, aftercare, or report issues appropriately.
Stakeholder Engagement: Lead discussions and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Operations, Human Resources, and Management, highlighting critical underlying requirements and trends.
Vendor & Authority Liaison: Communicate effectively with vendors and appointed authorities to ensure all requirements are executed in line with service level agreements.
Exceptional Service: Provide timely, professional, and outstanding service when addressing questions or concerns from internal and external applicants or authorities.
Assurance & Audits: Participate in external government assurance activities and audits, ensuring our standards consistently meet policy requirements.
Data Management: Maintain necessary files and statistics to track volumes, trends, and issues.
Additional Program Support: Offer technical and administrative support for the UK background investigation program and other related tasks and projects as required.
Valued skills and experience:
To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate:
Experience: Relevant National Security Vetting (NSV), Police Vetting (NPPV) and Background Checks experience is essential.
Technical Proficiency: Excellent communication skills and proficiency in PC-based software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. You should be a quick learner who can self-start and complete tasks remotely with minimal supervision.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills are paramount.

As a condition of employment you must be a UK national, resident in the UK, and capable of obtaining and maintaining Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) to SC level and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) to Level 3.
