About the job
Location: UK only (remote), hybrid and office-based options available in Cheltenham and the City of London.

Probation: Three-month period

Role Progression: This role offers progression to 'SEO Manager | On-page Optimisation (L3)’.

Training: Intensive training for the first three months, and ongoing scheduled and on-the-job training thereafter. Additional training such as ISO 9001 and 27001 compliance will be provided.

IT setup: Company-provisioned Mac laptop and mobile phone. If homeworking, certain IT and home office supplies may be provisioned.

Leave: 28 days paid leave including bank holidays.

Timezone: Primary timezone is GMT (UK), however occasional calls outside regular work hours may be required to accommodate global clients.

Security Level: BPSS and BS7858:2019, with possible requirement for higher clearance

Coaley Peak®, a Cheltenham-based digital analytics and marketing consultancy is seeking a diligent and proactive individual with a keen interest in SEO management and on-page optimisation. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives in delivering high-quality outputs, who writes extremely well, is punctual and organised, eager to learn, grows quickly in new environments and can successfully manage and execute on-page SEO strategies for our clients. This role is not suitable for applicants interested in account management.


Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting comprehensive keyword research to inform SEO strategies

- Gaining an understanding of our clients businesses, so as to effectively optimise their websites and content

- Executing on-page SEO strategies, with a primary focus on content optimisation

- Implementing basic to intermediate technical SEO, with the ambition to develop advanced skills

- Coordinating and managing client relationships and expectations

- Working with and managing copywriters to scale strategy implementation where required

- Training other team members as required by the business

- Learning and adapting to GA4, industry news and updates, processes and software as part of ongoing professional development


About You:

- Previous experience in managing SEO projects is essential

- Hands-on experience with SEO, with a focus on implementation over strategy, not account management.

- A strong understanding of content SEO and good working knowledge of technical SEO

- Ambition to develop skills in technical SEO, CRO and analytics (specifically, GA4)

- Comfortable working in a confidential and secure IT setup work environment

- Excellent writing skills

- Punctual and organised


Soft Skills:

- You are a quick learner and eager to expand your knowledge in SEO and digital marketing

- You display highly proactive behaviour, always seeking new opportunities to improve and streamline processes

- You have excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

- You proactively consider and propose solutions for clients that may be outside of the scope of the original project specification

- You are a strong communicator, both verbally and digitally, yet comfortable with a role that comprises 80% deliverable execution and 20% communication

- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for client meetings and team events


An Ideal Fit For This Role:

- You have hands-on experience in creating and optimising your own websites or you have proven in-house or agency experience in SEO and digital marketing

- Your work generates positive recommendations from your past and our current clients

- You can admit to and learn from your mistakes, continuous improvement of processes and deliverables is in our DNA

- You’re a self-starter, yet not afraid to work as a part of a small working group (team) as required to get larger or multi-discipline work completed

- You can be relied upon to complete deliverables, communicate progress and impress clients with minimal supervision

- You ask for help where needed

- Your level of attention to detail is extremely high


A Bad Fit For This Role:

- Individuals without a strong hands-on background in content SEO

- Individuals who have demonstrated lack of collaboration in team environments

- Professionals who have struggled to consistently earn client satisfaction and recommendations

- Those who are not proactive in finding solutions to problems

- Persons who require a high level of oversight for deliverables

- A person who cannot own up to and proactively learn from their mistakes


Success Metrics:

1. A client quality questionnaire response score of above 8.5/10 each month.

2. Internal performance score of above 8.5/10 each month.

3. Generating at least one client referral or three client referral leads every four months.
