Summary

We are looking for a Sixth Form Support Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and committed individual to join our Sixth Form Team. The school has consistently been achieving excellent academic results over the past few years with the GCSE results of 2023 being in the top 1% of results in the country, as well as the highest results for any non-selective school in Gloucestershire. We opened our Sixth Form in September 2024 and are really excited to see what the next stage in the school’s journey will be. To get a feel of life at Greenshaw Learning Trust, please download our ‘Why you should work for GLT’ recruitment brochure on our job’s portal.Job PurposeThe role of the Sixth Form Support Supervisor is to ensure supervision of Sixth Form Students not in lessons, setting high standards and expectations.You will work alongside key members of the school, employees, young people, families and other agencies to:Offer Pastoral Support to Sixth Form StudentsUndertake administrative duties relating to the sixth formUndertaking any training enabling you to fulfil your role and dutiesMain responsibilities:To communicate effectively with the Assistant Headteacher of Sixth Form, all staff and students within the school Where appropriate, to communicate and cooperate with external visitorsEnsure and promote the Sixth Form Study Centre as an environment of quiet private studyEnsure the maintenance of good order and discipline when students are engaged in activities outside of lessons, particularly in the Sixth Form CentreSupport the Sixth Form and Careers team in promoting aspirational destinations to leading universities and degree level apprenticeships (including UCAS)Support with securing high levels of attendanceContribute to the recruitment and retentions of Sixth Form studentsMaintain registers of students during study periodsLiaise with Assistant Head of Sixth Form, tutors and other staff to discuss students’ needs or issuesLiaise with subject leaders to maximise learning opportunities for students in study periodsAdministrative duties Attending open evening/eventsTo follow agreed policies for communications in the school You will need: Educated to at least 5 GCSE Grade 5/C standard (or equivalent) in English and MathematicsA good relevant education to A Level or equivalentLevel 3 Child Protection qualification (in date)Proven successful experience working with or caring for children in any settingCommitment to ensuring a culture of vigilance within the school communityExperience of working with data tracking and data management systemsAn in depth understanding of the local community and its perceived challengesAn understanding, or willingness to learn, about local authority practices regarding safeguardingAn understanding of local authority assessments procedures, thresholds for identification of abuse, and case conference practices What’s in it for you:Professional development and career progressionGenerous pension schemeBlue Light CardEligibility for Teacher Art Pass (teaching staff only)An Employee Assistance ProgrammeGym DiscountsFree eye testsCycle to work schemeBeing part of a great team and expanding organisation
