Summary
Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Medway
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:30 (overtime available)
Pay: £12.50
- Overtime paid after 37.5 hours per week
- Saturday: Time and a half
- Sunday: Double time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role carrying out a variety of grounds maintenance tasks across different sites. You will need to be reliable, hardworking, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, blowing, and general grounds upkeep.
- Planting, weeding, pruning, and other horticultural duties.
- Use of ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and other relevant machinery.
- Ensuring all tools, equipment, and machinery are used safely and maintained to a high standard.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have own transport.
- Relevant tickets/certifications preferred, such as:
- PA1/PA6 (pesticide application).
- Ride-on mower or brushcutter/strimmer certificates.
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
