Your role:

This exciting role is part of the Highways and Network Management service which is part of the Environment Directorate.

As a technician, you will be one of the key officers responsible for implementing our asset management approach to managing and maintaining our highway infrastructure and network management services. You will participate in/develop innovative projects that focus on asset management principles, highway maintenance and traffic management to ensure Wigan Council maintains its reputation of an excellent authority.

About you:

You will exhibit the BeWigan behaviours and have experience of working in a highway/traffic management environment.

You will have the ability to research, analyse and interpret information and make recommendations. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and as an individual, with an innovative approach to recognising problems and providing solutions.

You will be an effective communicator with good customer care skills. You will have an ability to work constructively with elected members, senior managers, and other internal/external organisations.
