PLEASE SEE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION ATTACHED JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY To provide a low intensity evidence based psychological therapy service in line with Step 2 of stepped care model. To provide both one to one and group interventions To provide triage assessments To provide supervision and case management of trainee and qualified PWP/ MHWPs as required To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall frameworks of the policies and procedures of the Department and Trust. To contribute to audit, policy and service development as required. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Clinical Provides Step 2 evidence based psychological interventions in accordance with NICE Guidelines to individuals, often those with multiple presenting problems Conduct risk assessments and initiate appropriate action where indicated including referrals to relevant secondary care services Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care and treatments using advanced clinical knowledge and clinical skills Manages waiting list responsibly, taking into account prioritisation needs Refers clients, with their consent, as appropriate to other members of the multi-disciplinary team or external agencies Maintains up to date resource directory for clients Works with Service Lead on development of the service Provides a positive role model to the other members of the team by delivering a high quality service as an expert practitioner Sets, monitors and seeks to continuously improve standards and the quality of the service, including those standards defined by National Standards Maintains a safe working environment Writes policies for the PWP/ MHWP service to be ratified by the Service Lead To be responsible for ensuring own and others clinical practice complies with professional standards/ Data Protection / Confidentiality / Caldicott Principles Ensures the safe use and efficient management of equipment and supplies. Promotes evidence-based practice, wherever possible Supports clients to ensure they receive required information to enable them to participate in their treatment. Develops and implements policy and practice guidelines specific to the clinical specialty. Receives regular clinical supervision from appropriately experienced professional, as mandated by professional body. Education and Training Actively participate in the development of own personal development plan and performance review Participate in national, regional and local conferences. Keep up to date with developments, advances within the specialty. Leadership Investigate and respond to accidents, complaints, untoward incidents and other significant events. Deliver an effective quality service within budgetary constraints. Contribute to service development, clinical governance etc. Research and Audit Contribute to the research agenda. Engage users and carers views on service delivery and development. Undertake audit programmes specific to client group, treatments and developments.
