Shift Pattern: Shifts are 2-1; Week one: Wed, Thurs, Fri 14:30 - 18:30 and Sun 3pm-7pm; Week Two: Wed, Thurs, Fri 14:30 - 18:30 and Sat 12am-6pm
We are looking for an exceptional Community Paediatric Care Assistant to join the Newcross Healthcare team in the Plymouth area. Join us in a supportive and rewarding environment where your work helps children and young people live happier, healthier lives.
Your Role: Supporting Independence, Enriching LivesAs a Community Paediatric Care Assistant, you will provide life-enhancing, person-centred care to children and young people in Paignton. Your compassion and dedication will help young people live safely, with dignity and independence in their own homes.
About our clientThis is a fun and lively young person with profound learning disabilities and Autism. They are non-verbal and use an iPad app, body language and sounds to communicate. They enjoy messy play, dancing, swimming, baking, riding their tricycle and watching favourite TV shows. They are mobile but have low muscle tone, use a wheelchair for longer distances, and need patient, supportive carers to help them stay safe and engaged.
What we're looking for:
• At least 6 months of paid professional care experience (or personal care experience in the UK)
• Confidence supporting individuals with limited mobility
• A valid driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• The right to work in the UK
• Experience with complex care (preferred but not essential, full training provided)
• Registration: Applicants in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland will require the relevant registration (e.g., SSSC, SCW, NISSC). Not applicable in England.
• Ability to understand both verbal and written English to follow care plans and communicate effectively
