Summary


The Learning and Development team are seeking to recruit a Learning Management System Manager. The post holder will have a key role in supporting the Trust to deliver the People Strategy and the Trust strategic objectives through providing excellent leading and development.

We require a technical expert with knowledge and skills to optimise the Trust Totara based Learning Management System and ensure it is utilised effectively and efficiently. This includes setting up SOP's, supporting systems updates, providing training to other training admin users, providing advice and guidance to SME's and other teams, course creation and associated technical support and testing, developing training audiences to support MAST KPIs.

You will be joining a L&D team who have a big role in supporting our staff.

The overall purpose of the role is to manage, maintain and administer the Trust Totara-based Learning Management System (LMS), and ensure functionality is optimised as required by the organisation, alongside providing training and guidance on LMS matters. This is to support the full training cycle including training needs analysis, design & development, delivery and evaluation.

The post holder will be the LMS expert within the organisation, with a thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of LMS, and will ensure that all associated activities, processes and training are fit for purpose working in collaboration with key stakeholders and members of the L&D Team.

You will provide technical and administrative support to the Learning and Development function for the digital applications across the Learning Management System (LMS).

You will be responsible for working in partnership with the Head of Learning and Development to engage staff, to support the redesign of current systems, processes, documentation and training as part of our commitment to continuous improvements and responding to customer feedback.

The post holder will also need to work with our IT team to keep up to date with system updates / changes. You will need be able to adapt to changing demands respond to short timescales.

• Use IT knowledge and skills to manage the LMS (Totara based) to design and develop content and functionality to meet the learning needs of the Trust.

• Be the main point of contact for LMS queries, responding to the designated inbox and attending meetings and calls as required.

• Manage the maintenance and upgrade process for the LMS as required.

• Liaising with stakeholders and supporting and leading projects with supervision as required.

• Liaise with external suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

• Maintaining a positive relationship with IT and Information Management colleagues to troubleshoot technical system concerns and ensure LMS alignment with other IT/IM systems, including single sign on, ESR, internal KPI dashboards and cybersecurity requirements.

• Liaise with the relevant internal and external working groups and stakeholders, making system-based recommendations to enable an LMS which is used efficiently and effectively.

• Provide guidance and recommendations to departments to help ensure that the LMS is utilised as effectively as possible, ensuring engaging training is developed.

• Provide training to stakeholders to utilise the LMS system as appropriate for their role. This will include but not limited to, learners, course developers, administrators and managers.

• Develop pragmatic solutions to translate, configure, implement and maintain/review audiences based upon complicated existing staff data fields. Audience configurations will need to meet the training requirements identified by stakeholders.

• Routinely review course layout and aesthetics to promote a positive user experience. Where relevant, provide guidance and templates to help with standardisation of course design.

• Support the L&D in the delivery of LMS user training where required.

• Provide a high-quality customer focused service for LMS support requests.

• Provide reports and data analysis as required based upon data available through the LMS e.g. course completion statistics.

• Contribute to the review and updates of existing training and development policies and procedures to ensure an integrated approach across other People Team work streams.

• Be responsible for the maintenance and development of the LMS/Compass policy in collaboration with L&D leadership

• Quality control of existing and new LMS courses including course layout, functionality of LMS elements, completions settings and testing e.g. SCORM.

• Maintain an in depth understanding of Technology Enhanced Learning systems, updating own skills and knowledge to enhance system and service delivery.

• Work in a proactive, professional and collaborative manner within the team as required.

• Day to day supervision of colleagues conducting LMS administration
