You will contribute to the achievement of agreed service objectives by maintaining the Council Tax & Non Domestic Rates registers by assessing various types of information provided and thereafter

updating the Council’s on line Council Tax/Non Domestic Rates billing and collection systems.

You will be required to will undertake data input to the online Revenues administration systems.

It is essential that you have experience of; dealing with customer queries by phone, face to face and in writing and experience of working in a clerical, administrative or data input environment. It is also essential that you have the ability to; demonstrate a basic understanding of Council Tax and/ or Non Domestic Rates; use Microsoft Excel/ Word proficiently; make effective decisions based on appropriate rationale;

Effective communication skills and the ability to be able to present ideas in a clear and concise manner verbally and in writing and work alone and as part of a team are essential.

It is desirable that you have experience of; administration of Council Tax or Non Domestic Rates; participation in change activity; creating verbal and written reports and delivering coaching/ training within a team and on an individual basis. It is also desirable that you have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of; Council Tax and/ or Business Rates legislation and administration; Northgate I-World and Information At Work systems and Housing & Council Tax Benefits legislation & administration.

An SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or an HNC in an appropriate subject (or equivalent) is also desirable.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 1 Year or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
