Summary
The Team Lead ensures the delivery of safe, consistent care by managing staff leave, allocating workloads equitably, and supporting service prioritisation. They oversee clinical and operational standards, leading day-to-day nursing activity, performance, and staff development in collaboration with the Clinical Lead, Matrons, and General Manager. They contribute to strategic service planning, including development of a countywide health needs profile and securing funding aligned to identified needs. The role includes leading recruitment, workforce planning, change management, and service improvement based on evidence and best practice. The Team Lead supports policy development, ensures accurate clinical records, oversees procurement and maintenance of medical devices, and ensures compliance with safeguarding and health and safety procedures. They lead on staff appraisals, professional development, and quality improvement, including audits and research participation. They manage budgetary resources effectively and analyse service data to inform decisions. As the service evolves, the Team Lead will coordinate 24/7 end-of-life care support in partnership with hospices and charities, ensuring compassionate care for children and families.
