Are you someone who thrives on making a real difference, even when the work is challenging? We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient, and patient individual to join our team in a unique one-to-one support role with a woman who lives independently in her own home.
This is not your average support role. You’ll be supporting a woman with autism and a learning disability who communicates non-verbally. She enjoys walks, day trips, and engaging activities at home — and you’ll be instrumental in helping her live the life she chooses. You’ll need to be creative and intuitive, finding ways to connect and engage in ways that make sense to her.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing personalised, one-to-one support in her home and in the community
Supporting with all aspects of daily life, including intimate personal care
Driving her (in her own vehicle) to activities, appointments, and day trips
Planning and delivering meaningful, tailored activities
Lone working and completing sleep-ins (note: she may wake around 4am regularly)
Managing behaviours that can challenge
Duties and Responsibilities:
To support the Manager and assist with team management and the administration of the services. This will include managing rotas and shifts, staff supervisions, liaising with family and overseeing the daily care records to ensure they are comprehensive and fully completed.
Ensuring people with learning disabilities understand their rights and responsibilities and are supported to undertake an active role in making decisions about their support.
To meet the requirements of regulatory authorities to ensure the project maintains its status as a supported living and domiciliary agency via:
the statement of purpose is achieved
policies and procedures are implemented
Ensure best practice in comprehensive support planning and ensuring plans are kept up to date.
About you:
You’re a confident, calm, and caring person who doesn’t shy away from a challenge
You’re a driver with a valid UK license (essential)
You’re able to think on your feet, problem-solve, and stay positive under pressure
You have the resilience and empathy to support someone who communicates differently and needs you to advocate for them
Why join us?
This role is hard work — but it’s also incredibly rewarding. You’ll be part of a supportive team who values your contribution, and you’ll have a genuine opportunity to improve someone’s quality of life every single day. We offer full training, ongoing support, and the chance to grow your skills in a role that truly matters.
We believe our work here is very special and rewarding, our benefits include
