Summary
NKD Group design and build electrical control panels, Low voltage switchgear, battery charger and distribution boards.
They are seeking a motivated Trainee Electrical & Test Engineer to join their growing team specialising in the design and manufacture of low voltage distribution boards, cabinets, and bespoke switchgear solutions. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals keen to develop a career in electrical engineering, panel building, and factory testing.
The role involves assisting senior engineers with the assembly, wiring, and testing of LV panels in accordance with electrical schematics and BS EN 61439 standards. Duties will include busbar preparation, installing components such as MCCBs and ACBs, wiring control circuits, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures. You will also support in performing insulation resistance tests, ductor testing, and functional checks on panels before dispatch.
Full training will be provided, covering panel wiring, schematic interpretation, and the safe use of tools and test equipment.
This role offers career progression, with opportunities to develop into a qualified electrical engineer and gain experience in both workshop and site environments. This could include becoming a Test Engineer, Panel Builder, or Power Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of electrical principles, strong attention to detail, and a hands-on, practical approach.

Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work.

Working Hours :- Monday to Friday 7.30a.m to 4.30pm
