Summary
Are you a compassionate phlebotomist? Our Weymouth and Portland Community Team based at Weymouth Community Hospital are looking for a Community Phlebotomist to join their experienced team.
As the Community Phlebotomist you will support the DN and Anticoagulation teams and housebound patients with their venepuncture requirements. You will be able to work autonomously and manage your own workload (with support). You will be expected to visit patients in their own homes to take required bloods tests and deliver them back to the collection points in a timely manner.
The Community Phlebotomist is a part time role of 24 hours per week,Monday to Friday. We like to promote a positive work life balance; we can be flexible with how working hours can be met. This includes start and finish times to support childcare/carers responsibilities. Hours can be discussed further at interview stage. In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we can provide an opportunity for you to develop your clinical skills and experience in a supportive team, with regular supervision and appraisals.We offer full comprehensive induction training with ongoing support and regular supervisions.You must hold avalid UK driving license required and access to a car.

· Undertake Community Phlebotomy for housebound patients in their own
home who are unable to attend their GP Practice.
· Support nursing team members with delivery of patient care.
· Support and liaise with doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
· Process various specimens appropriately.
· Undertake blood pressure measurements and record correctly.
· Perform INR tests and work within standing operating procedure to deliver near patient testing service.
· Undertake other clinical duties at discretion of lead nurse.
· Ensure evidence-based practice is delivered within scope of professional
practice.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
