Our Opportunity

East Whitby Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor, your role will be to ensure our pupils safely enjoy their lunchtime break.

Key Duties:

• Supervise the dining room, playground area, playing fields, cloakrooms and classrooms etc during the lunchtime break
• Assist with the removal of food and equipment once pupils have eaten their lunch
• Deal with minor first aid incidents; follow appropriate procedures for recording and reporting
• Observe a child or young person’s behaviour and report any inappropriate behaviour to the correct member of staff
• Assist in the supervision of other activities during the lunch time break, including setting out and storing equipment
• Promote and actively support the school’s responsibilities towards safeguarding

You will need:

• The ability to relate to children/young people from diverse ethnic/social backgrounds
• Good verbal communication skill to liaise with children/young people and staff members
• Previous experience of working with children/young people in a school environment is not essential but may be preferred
