Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Westbrook Lane Primary School is a single form entry school with a total capacity of 210 children. We are a small primary school, with a strong family feel. We are proud of our reputation as a caring and successful school focused on learning and individual achievement.
The governors of Westbrook Lane are looking to appoint a motivated and inspiring 1:1 EYFS/KS1 teaching assistant who has experience of working with children with SEND. This post will be to work 1:1 with a child in Reception/KS1classes and is a fixed term contract for 1 year and will also include lunch duties.
Experience of working with children in the EYFS/KS1 phase, and those with SEND, would be desirable; as would any specialist training such as STARs. However, if you are interested in the role, but do not have any experience of working with children with SEND, training would be available for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will:
• be able to motivate and engage children
• be able to form professional and nurturing relationships with children
• demonstrate a calm, proactive approach to behaviour management
• work effectively in a team and build positive relationships
• be able to apply good organisational and communication skills
• be able to use their initiative, learn and adapt
• have a positive attitude and a good sense of humour
What the school offers its staff
We will offer:
• a successful school with a positive and inclusive ethos
• the opportunity to work with enthusiastic and friendly children
• a supportive and committed staff team
• a senior leadership team who value staff wellbeing and will support you in your role
• a warm and welcoming school community
• the opportunity to develop your role within the school
• a commitment to your professional development
Closing date: 2nd October 2025
Interviews: WC 6th October 2025
